The Drupal Community Working Group are volunteers whose goal is to foster a friendly and welcoming environment for all who participate in the Drupal Project. Join to see what initiatives are being pursued and learn how to volunteer to assist in the growth of Drupal and the health of the community.

We will be talking to members of the Community Health team, as well as past members and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

The session will discuss:

  • Quick intro of the Drupal CWG, how we work, the different teams and roles within it and how you can help
  • How the Community Health Team works to develop and support community initiatives
  • Ongoing and upcoming Community initiatives, including initiatives we’d like feedback and help on
  • Current and past struggles, barriers and challenges and what we are doing to solve them.

We would love for this to be an interactive panel where we can discuss and answer questions from the Community. Active participation is not required, but highly encouraged.

Do you have aspirations of contributing to the Drupal community, but are unsure what to expect? Have you read the documentation and feel like you still don't know how or where to contribute?

In this session, two long-time Drupal contributors will help you fill in the gaps in the documentation as you make your journey as a first-time contributor.

We will discuss topics including issue queue management, the credit system, invisible priorities, and how to make the most of your experience.

Help avoid pitfalls and stress, and increase your readiness for the road ahead by hearing stories and learning from the mistakes of your fellow contributors.

I'll be giving this talk with Owen Bush.
