Background

The foundational yoga practice of non-harming and reverence for all life. Far from being exclusive to yoga, the word ahiṁsā is explicitly used in the early Buddhist Pāli Canon (such as Dhammapada 261) as a core, defining attribute of an awakened person (thera)."
